Molly's Moonlit Stroll

"Molly's Moonlit Stroll"

I am taking Molly for a walk like I do every night at this time. I grabbed for the leash up on the door handle as Molly jumps up and down..... Back and forth. You could see it in her eyes... she knew. I put my hand on the door nob and slowly turned as her eyes stared heavily on the knob and then the door... waiting for the door to open so she can spring into action. I tease her inch by inch but she doesn't grow tired instead it seems to make her want her freedom more than ever. I slowly open the door just enough for her to squeeze her little body through and take off as she jumps off the first step to the somewhat greenish grass below. Ah, freedom is in the air as she relieves herself on the front lawn. "Good Girl, Molly! Thanks for watering the grass since the Association won’t fix the sprinkler, someones got to do it. Thank goodness, we have you to do that," I said as she looks all proud of herself. Then she looks both ways to see what is going on with the neighbors. I wonder sometimes if she where a person would she be the nosey neighbor who spy's on everyone or the protector of the neighborhood, defender of the people who live in little boxed houses. Dunt-du-ta-da-da...DUN-Dun-dun-dun.

Molly runs to her boyfriends house just 3 doors down a poodle terrier named Jack. As I enjoy the view...the wind is lightly blowing through my hair and the sidewalk streetlights are at a dull glow as though they were candles lit just for me. The moon shines just a sliver as though it were trying to pretend it's asleep. In the distance, you can see the sunset wasn’t finished with just a little orange and pink laying on the mountain top. As I walk by the homes of my neighbors I see that some of the houses are dark and some have their windows open with the lights on and still others you can see just a peak of their home though the crack of the blinds. I imagine what their lives are like and what made them live here. I wonder if they are happily married, unhappily single or ect. What kind of jobs do they have? I wonder if I could get some good decoration tips from their homes. LOL...

Molly scratches at Jacks door but no one is home so we move on. She prances like a small pony. I think how cute is this little girl of mine and how special she is to me. How can something so small capture your heart? I see another window open it seems impossible to turn away. A couple cuddling on the couch...he grabs her hand, she kisses him and puts her head on his shoulder. It makes me wonder is their someone for everyone or is everyone on their own and just maybe in the magic of love life makes lemonade.

Yes to "Yes Man"

On the go again to say yes to "Yes Man". Blair and I spent the day around friends and family crashing in an over sized living room of a good friend's home this afternoon cheering the CARDS on to victory but after stuffing our faces and engaging in aerobic activity due to spirited cheer we decided to head to the movies. What else would be appropriate in an overly masculine day but "Yes Man". "Yes Man" provided just the right amount of humor, life and love. This movie makes you want to live your best life and say Yes to life's adventure. I give this movie a 3.5 popcorn for humor, adventure, love and life.

Carl (Jim Carrey) was humorous playing a character who was disengaged with his life becoming nearly a hermit due to a past breakup and on the verge of losing what friends he had when he finds the power to say yes to anything and everything asked of him through a self help seminar. The power to say yes leads him on a path of self discovery and along the way life becomes better than he ever expected. He finds himself promoted, popular, playing guitar, speaking Korean, doing flying lessons, saving lives, jumping off bridges and best of all in love.

Allison (Zooey Deschanel) and Carl make a perfect couple as he is just beginning the skills of living and she has been living as a free spirit. Allison and Carl's adventure take them all over the city on a little scooter. I wonder why that sounds familiar? She is definitely a kindred spirit for me. Although this actress captured by attention long ago with the bird seen in "Failure to Launch," I must say she makes a great leading lady too. Until our we meet again.... keep your helmets on and your adventures strong.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Reviewed

Late last night Blair my roommate and I jumped on my red Vespa having to leave Molly Way home to guard the house and headed to the movies. "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" was definitely Curious indeed for both of us last night until we finally were able to put our curiosity behind us long enough to view this beautifully visual display of filmography. I rate this film 4 out of 5 popcorn and definitely a must see for any movie lover. Here is my take on this film.

Life is put into perspective when viewing a film such as "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." I wasn't sure what to expect when seeing such a film but was intrigued to see how the aging process could be pulled off to such a degree to make a person age backwards. I knew this film would be a hit or miss but in this viewers opinion it was a hit. This film was like a symphony lulling you to feel the characters every emotion with similarities that pass the boundaries from story to life. It is a story of everyman and reaches to the heart of the viewer to capture a scrapbook styled romance between each of the characters throughout a human life.

David Fincher, who is recognized for his contemporary style directing in such films as Zodiac and Fight Club has taken a turn to accomplish such beauty and warmth in this film. Along with the writing style of Eric Roth who wrote films such as Forest Gump which has a strikingly familiar feel to this film has recreated F._Scott_Fitzgerald's classic short story and has also caused an Oscar buzz in the air. The imagery, lighting, special effects and story telling are reminiscent of old Hollywood and are the high lights of this film.

We are all fascinated with the thought of looking young and if any one person were able to find and distribute the fountain of youth that one person would be the richest person on the plant because though most of us don't really want to admit it we all focus way to much on looks in our own ways. Benjamin Buttons (Brad Pitt) is as much curious as odd to the characters he meets. Born in a body of an 80 year old man he becomes younger as he grows older. He gleans knowledge through his travels and the characters he meets as each one changes a part of his life. His heart belongs to one woman in particular, Daisy (Cate Blanchett), who he loves but struggles with the differences in their lives. The other actors bring life to the film with such scenes of lightning striking a man seven times as he reminds us throughout the film. The unexpected humor about life, love and age was surprising and smart and left me mesmerized.
