Evening Eventful~ This evening I went to the preview of Julie & Julia the movie about Julia Child and Julie Powell who wrote a Blog called The Julie/Julia Project where she documented her life for 1 year and over 524 recipes following Julia Child's first cookbook "Mastering The Art of French Cooking". Julie Powell is 30 and missing something in her life. She seems to find her self again while challenging herself to this goal and when she completes her goal her dreams of being a published author becomes a reality.
I must say that when I saw the preview ads I expected cute and nice but I didn't expect a lot from this movie but after seeing this movie I must say that "It Delivered". The character of Julie Powell was enchantingly flawed while Merly Streep character was Julie Child's incarnate. You really can't see her the actress only the character. It really seems that she captured her very being when she played this role. The way the story is written and directed causes you to be right in the moment of the highs and lows of every character. Two lives touched but never crossing. I must say that the food in the movie was a character all its own and really stole the show.I give this give this movie 4.5 popcorn's. It challenged me with intellect and heart. It also inspired me with this blog. This is a must see movie. Then read the books.
